Interests:

The why's and how's of the human body has always fascinated me. The most enjoyable aspect about the associates program at CCV was how the curriculum introduces students to the various schools of thought in bodywork. Then through continuing education, students can refine their knowledge in whatever interests them.

Since obtaining my degree I have focused my studies on the fascia, the connective tissue of the entire body. While I very much enjoy and respect energy and Eastern based therapies, I feel that scientific knowledge of the human body has helped me be more effective in addressing imbalances in the structural body.

I have been fortunate to find an environment in which my interest can flourish and grow. From 2007 to 2018 I worked at Vermont Back and Body Care as a chiropractic assistant. In my duties I was able to observe and be part of comprehensive care for patients who experienced a variety of pain and symptoms due to musculoskeletal disorders.

With this knowledge on how the body exhibits pain from dysfunction in the muscle and fascia, I am able to assist my clients in the why it happens, and how to manage it. In no way do I feel any therapist can "fix" a client, it takes effort from all involved, especially the client. For example, in a session I can break up adhesions in the fascia, help the muscle relax, and improve circulation for quicker healing. But if the client does not drink water, stay active, and try to improve body mechanics, the same patterns will arise again.
